What does the pottery class involve?
You or your group can choose the theme and the length of time you’d like the class to be. Kay will suggest some ideas of ornaments or decorations that can feasibly be created during the class. On the day, clients are given the tools and materials to design and make their own ornament, with supervision or gentle instruction from Kay herself, who has extensive experience in teaching groups of all abilities. At the end of the class, all ornaments are carefully marked with the artist’s initials, and are glazed, fired and returned to the event organiser within two weeks.
Are materials included?
All materials for the pottery classes are provided, including clay, tools and paints. As it is a mobile pottery class, you just need to provide a venue with enough large tables to accommodate your group with plenty of room to get creative, and ensure that they all have suitable clothing or overalls to get a bit mucky!
COSHH aware and principals applied.
Will you come to my care home or community venue?
Yes! When you contact us, let us know where you are based, and we’ll factor in transport costs into the final price.
How much does it cost?
Prices are calculated on an hourly basis, plus mileage. Please get in touch to enquire about the price of a pottery class with your group – including as much detail about the group as you can will help us to confirm an accurate price more quickly.
Who is the class suitable for?
These pottery classes are designed to be accessible to as many people as possible, and their flexible format means they can be adapted to whatever best suits the people in the group. The classes have received great responses from groups that included individuals with Alzheimer’s, dementia or other neuro-degenerative conditions, and from those with learning disabilities.
